What's the difference between a group class and a workshop?

On Heallist, you can offer both group classes and workshops along with 1:1 sessions to connect with multiple clients at once. While both are valuable for expanding your practice and creating community-based healing experiences, there are a few key differences in how they function — especially when it comes to scheduling and calendar management.

Group Classes

Group classes are ideal for recurring sessions or ongoing community gatherings.

Key Details:

  • When a group class is added and a date is selected, a corresponding event is automatically created in your connected Google Calendar.

  • If the class is recurring, separate calendar events are generated for each occurrence.

  • If a date is removed for a recurring class, the matching event in your Google Calendar is automatically deleted.

Use this option for:

  • Weekly /monthly group activities

  • Healer circles

  • Short holistic trainings

Workshops

Workshops are typically single, one-off events, though you can schedule them as needed.

Key Details:

  • A calendar event is automatically created as soon as a workshop is set up.

  • If you reschedule the date or time of a workshop, the event in your connected Google Calendar updates automatically to reflect the new details.

Use this option for services like:

  • Special seasonal events

  • Community healing circles

  • Longer educational talks
